Celorico de Basto

In brief: In the 21 August 2025 meeting, the Celorico de Basto Municipal Council approved several items across health, education, infrastructure and social support. It authorised the submission to the Municipal Assembly of a 4.39 million euro long-term loan for health sector investment, including building works, equipment and furniture. It approved school meals collaboration protocols for 2025/2026 with three entities, with a total budget of 38,115 euros, and the municipality to pay by the 15th of the following month; the free use of the Municipal Pool for CACIs' therapies; and transportation protocols for CACIs. Additionally, it approved urban planning/infrastructure actions, including the leasing contract with Real Fórmula, an expression of interest for a new road via with Green Basto Vineyards (land swap), and supplementary works to the Gandarela housing project amounting to 46,412.20 euros. Proposals for school meal collaborations were also approved with local organisations, and cultural support measures including financial backing for an artist’s international fashion participation and related governance items.
